The Michigan Board of Nursing accepts courses from CE Leaders.
RNs and LPNs must complete 25 contact hours of continuing education within the 2-year period preceding the date of renewal. At least 2 of these contact hours must be in pain and pain symptom management. There is also a 1-time requirement for training in identifying victims of human trafficking. The human trafficking training is not part of the continuing education requirement but may be satisfied via a continuing education activity.
Effective June 1, 2022, new applicants for licensure or registration are required to have completed 2 contact hours in implicit bias training within the 5 years immediately preceding issuance of the license or registration. Additionally, beginning on June 1, 2022, and for every renewal thereafter, renewing licensees and registrants are required to complete at least 1 contact hour in implicit bias training for each year of their license or registration cycle. This training is in addition to any continuing education training required for your profession.
No more than 12 contact hours may be earned during a 24-hour period for online or electronic media.
