Illinois Nurses
The Illinois Department of Professional Regulation Board of Nursing accepts courses from CE Leaders.
State Requirements
RNs and LPNs must complete 20 contact hours of continuing education every 2 years. At least 1 contact hour of continuing education in sexual harassment prevention must be completed every renewal.
Effective January 1, 2023, RNs and LPNs must complete at least 1 contact hour of continuing education in training on implicit bias awareness every renewal period. This course may count towards the regular continuing education requirements.
Effective January 1, 2023, RNs and LPNs who provide health care services to and have direct patient interaction with adults 26 years of age and older must complete at least 1 contact hour of continuing education in diagnosis, treatment and care of Alzheimer’s disease, along with other dementia types. This course may count towards the regular continuing education requirements.
