West Virginia Nurses
The West Virginia RN Board and the West Virginia State Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurses accepts courses from CE Leaders. CE Leaders is an approved provider through CE Broker with Provider Number (#50-33450). CE Leaders will electronically report successful completed courses to CE Broker.
RNs must complete 12 contact hours of continuing education every year, including at least 2 contact hours in the subject of mental health conditions common to veterans and family members of veterans. Licensees authorized to prescribe, dispense, and/or administer controlled substances must also complete at least 3 contact hours of drug diversion training, best-practice prescribing of controlled substances training and training on prescribing and administration of an opioid antagonist at initial licensure, and at least 1 contact hour every renewal thereafter.
LPNs must complete 24 contact hours of continuing education every 2 years, including at least 3 contact hours in substance abuse and at least 2 contact hours in the subject of mental health conditions common to veterans and family members of veterans. A 1-time requirement of 2 contact hours in end-of-life care with pain management must also be completed for new licensees or at the time of reinstatement of a lapsed or inactive license.
